we started ashlyn on the pacifier a couple days ago. she's still getting used to it and doesnt seem to mind it.

we had a wonderful time celebrating christmas with ashlyn for the first time. although christmas day probably seemed just like any other day, it was nice to spend time as a family. i'm looking forward to the years ahead as we start creating our own family traditions and share with her the christmas story.

shocking sight

almost couldn't believe my eyes. this was a shocking sight to see the first time. i didn't realize how much she's starting to shift during the night. i guess we have to be more careful now that she's moving quite a bit.

Lately, Ashlyn's been drooling a lot. So while holding her as we're watching a little tv, I didn't think much of it when I felt drool on my hands. Next thing I know, I happen to look down at her and saw her fast asleep. Funny how even in the most uncomfortable position, she can still manage to knock out.

woke up this morning and caught daddy and ashlyn spending time together doing what they love...

ashlyn's all ready for church today. finally got her a hair accessory. she looks so cute but we noticed that the band leaves a red imprint on her head. yikes!

giving her a chance to strengthen her neck muscles by laying her on her belly. instead, she's determined to pick herself up (and even succeeds in lifting both legs off the couch) and now looks more like an airplane.

absolutely miserable

ashlyn had a fever of 100.4 last night -- she was absolutely miserable. her stuffy nose made it even more miserable for her during feeding seeing as she couldn't breathe out of her nose. so, every so often she'd stop to take big breaths -- it was so sad.

she's feeling better today...she broke her fever late last night after we gave her some children's tylenol. this morning, her cough seemed to be fading, but still there.

be praying for ashlyn. i think she may have caught the cold from me. she's got a stuffy nose and a terrible congested cough. we've got her on a humidifier at night, saline solution & baby rub. we're praying she comes out of this soon. thanks!

cheery all morning

ashlyn woke up today with a big smile as i walked into her room to get her ready. she's been cheery all morning. here's ashlyn this morning while relaxing in our room.

several people have commented that ashlyn looks like will. i was able to locate a picture of us when we were kids to determine what features she takes after. it's amazing how much she resembles her dad.

vibrant time of year

autumn is such a vibrant time of the year. my favorite season, actually.

holding herself up

so the pediatrician encouraged us to put ashlyn on her tummy every day (under supervision) so that she'll build up the necessary muscles in her neck, arms & back to be able to roll over and eventually crawl. so far she's been successful at holding herself up using her teeny arms.

turned three months

ashlyn turned three months today. we cant believe how much she has grown in these three months. god keep charge over you, baby girl.

into her routine

we still have more work to do in ashlyn's room, but she doesnt seem to mind. she's been sleeping in her room by herself for about two weeks now. she's doing real well -- her night starts at 8:30p and she usually wakes around 6a. she still has to adjust to daylight savings, but we think it wont be too long before she get's into her routine again.

the sound of music

we're finally starting to realize how responsive she is to what she sees and hears. my mom has been watching her while we're at work and is constantly telling us how attentive she is when the tv is on. at night, we also play a soothing lullaby cd (thanks xai!) to soothe her while sleeping.

today, while the band was practicing for christmas, she was happily listening to her daddy play. i had laid her on the ground and as the music was being played, she turned towards the sound of the music.

so excited she'll slide

she's so content when having her warm bath. sometimes she gets so excited she'll slide down her bath "chair" because she's kicking so much.

putting on a show

ashlyn is starting to smile and laugh. she's putting on a show here just after having a night of restful sleep.

down with a cold

ashlyn recently came down with a cold. she had it all...the stuffy nose, the coughing & sneezing, and the blocked tear duct. fortunately, she recovered quickly.
